These fudgy vegan brownies are decadent, fudgy, and very rich, so they really hit the spot after you’ve had one of “those” days. But believe it or not, that’s not even the best part about this recipe.
These brownies come together in less than 30 minutes. Yep, that’s right! From the moment the thought of a dense, chewy brownie pops into your head, in just 30 minutes you could be the proud owner of some delicious vegan treats. Furthermore, there are no crazy, hard-to-find ingredients in this recipe. So if you bake often, you will likely have all the ingredients in your pantry patiently waiting to become brownies.
These brownies are best if you let them sit in the fridge for anywhere from 12-24 hours. This will give your brownies a better (and fudgier) texture and a more complex taste. Although this step is not completely necessary.
They also freeze extremely well. Just cut them into squares and store in a freezer bag. I’ve been known to eat them right out of the freezer, no defrosting required! Because of their fat content, they don’t freeze to a completely solid texture. If you wanted to take your desert game to the next level, you could even top your frozen brownie with some non-dairy ice cream! yum!

The best fudgy vegan brownie recipe you’ll ever try. This decadent recipe is also extremely simple to put together and requires no strange ingredients. Comes together in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup + 6 Tbsp all purpose flour
- 1/2 Cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 Cup white sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 Cup vegetable oil (or vegan butter)
- 4 oz vegan chocolate (you can use non-dairy chips, such as Enjoy Life brand or any vegan chocolate bar you can find, I suggest around 70% dark for this recipe)
- 1/2 Cup water
- 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
- Prep your baking pan by greasing it with some oil or butter, then lining it with some parchment paper so that it sticks up the sides a bit. When it comes time to take the brownies out to cool, you’ll be able to pull them right out. For this recipe I use an 8×8 baking pan.
- Whisk together the dry ingredients (flour, brown sugar, white sugar, salt and baking powder).
- Next, either over a double boiler or in your microwave, melt your chocolate together with your oil or vegan butter until the chocolate has melted.
- Once melted, whisk together your chocolate mixture, dry mixture, the water and the vanilla until just combined.
- Pop your brownies in the oven for roughly 20 minutes or until a fork comes out clean. Let your brownies cool in the pan for about 10 to 20 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. from there you can slice, and enjoy your decadent creation.
